DANIEL DONOGHUE - GUITAR, BASS GUITAR & UKULELE WELLINGTON MUSIC TEACHER
Daniel began playing guitar at the age of 13. This hobby quickly developed into a great passion for the guitar and music in general.
He dedicated a lot of time to classical guitar and won the “Wairarapa Intercollegiate Solo Music Competition”
and the “Spring Strings Composition Competition” in 2005.
Daniel has enjoyed performing for several years both by himself and in bands, playing classical and contemporary solo guitar at various events including weddings. He also plays in rock covers bands in the local music scene.
Daniel transfers his passion for music into teaching. Daniel find teaching to be a rewarding and satisfying experience and has years of experience teaching guitar and bass in secondary and intermediate schools.
He is currently a student at the New Zealand School of Music, Victoria University, studying jazz. He also plays the bass guitar in the band, Mystery Machine.
"My son has been learning guitar with Daniel for the past 2 years. During this time I have certainly seen great strides in his playing and was proud to see him playing in the recent Encore concert. I have found Daniel to be a talented music teacher who takes the time to engage with his students. He is very supportive and patient and see Daniel as a reason behind my son being passionate about his music - including practice. I would fully recommend Daniel as a teacher at any level of guitar knowledge." - Mark Keegan
"We love having Daniel as our music teacher, he is patient and caring and is great with kids. He always teachers relevant pieces that keeps engagement high! We always look forward to our guitar lesson every week." - Anna McLauchlan
