Leah was raised in a very musical family and music became a passion in her life from a very early age. Leah began learning the piano at age four and went on to complete a number of classical music and music theory exams with distinction.
In 2000, Leah completed a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning at the Christchurch College of Education. She then began working as a primary school teacher for around six years. During this time, she had the privilege of planning music units for the syndicate and teaching these across five classes. She was also responsible for organising the music and orchestras for school productions.
In 2007, Leah moved to Sydney to become a student of music again herself. She completed a Diploma of Performance Music at the School of Creative Arts in Oxford Falls and broadened her knowledge and skills in a variety of musical genre. She was also awarded the coveted 'Principal's Award' for her outstanding performance at the school. Since the beginning of 2009, Leah has been teaching private music students from Churton Park and the surrounding suburbs.
'Emily is loving her piano lessons and we are delighted with her progress. We found a gem when we were introduced to Leah.' Nicola Jepson
Leah Fuimaono teaches our daughter Adah Setefano the piano. I have been impressed with Adah's progress and in the short period that Leah has taught Adah, she has learnt and enjoyed playing the piano A LOT! I am also happy that Leah encourages Adah in her singing too. Leah is very approachable and patient with Adah (and no doubt with all her students) and is always very friendly and positive when we meet. I am so happy that Adah has a fantastic teacher who makes learning the piano enjoyable and fun! Mua Setefano
'Leah is an outstanding teacher. She is committed to providing the best possible learning experiences for all her students. Leah creates a warm and supportive environment where all students know they are fully supported and valued. Her genuine enthusiasm and sense of fun is enjoyed by all.'
