Genevieve Rainey - Singing, Violin

Genevieve (Evie) has been involved in music learning and making since she was a very young child and is very passionate about music education. Evie is highly proficient in a number of instruments including singing, violin and piano.

Evie has had years of voice training and is currently a member of the New Zealand Youth Choir. She was also previously involved in an operatic group, Boutique Opera. As such, she is able to bring a sophisticated understanding of piano and vocal technique to lessons.  

In 2006, she gained her DipABRSM in performance Piano.  She has also achieved Grade 8 in both violin and theory.  Evie also plays the saxophone, flute, double bass and recorder.  Evie is a versatile musician with an understanding of all types of music. She is an experienced classical performer and is highly competent in jazz, folk, and pop styles.

Alongside her musical expertise, she brings an advanced understanding of teaching to lessons. She has taught children aged 5-13 for years, particularly specialising in string groups, and throughout 2007-2010, she has gained experience in working with children as an after school caregiver at Te Aro School.
