HENRY BURTON WOOD VIOLIN TEACHER
Henry has been passionate about the violin for almost all his life, beginning at age 3 where he would run around playing his air violin. This passion continued through high school where he was constantly immersed in music; being involved with the school orchestra, chamber group, jazz band, choir, and his own Klezmer and string rock band, including receiving the performer of the year award at his school for his contributions. Henry is currently studying towards a Bachelor’s degree in classical performance on the violin at the Victoria University of Wellington under the tutelage of Monique Lapins.
Henry’s interest and abilities on the violin span many genres. Having played in many orchestra and chamber groups, Jazz groups, Klezmer and Irish folk bands, and even a couple rock bands on his electric violin. Most Tuesdays you will find Henry having fun down at the Welsh Dragon playing in the traditional Irish music session. |
