MICHAEL STEBBINGS - SINGING & CLARINET WELLINGTON MUSIC TEACHER
Michael has been singing all his life, and started playing the clarinet as soon as he was allowed! Michael has a Grade 8 ABRSM in singing and graduated from a Masters in Music in 2008, and then a PGCE in Secondary Music in 2009. Michael then taught for two and a half years in the UK before moving to New Zealand in 2012.
Michael is a versatile musician with experience in most genres and is especially well versed in musical theatre. Over the last ten years, Michael gained a wide range of teaching experiences and has taught students of all ages in individual, small group and large group settings. He teaches classroom music as well as itinerant tutoring at primary schools.
Outside of teaching, Michael has worked with various local theatre companies as a Music Director, composer and performer in a wide variety of shows. In 2014, he co-founded a musical theatre group, known as the Wellington Footlights Society.
Michael is a passionate and energetic teacher. Music and teaching are at the heart of everything he does; it brings him great joy to see his pupils flourish and experience the joy of having music in their lives.
